Plain words, kept short. Last revised September 2026.
Verse Hall is a place to read the Bible with an AI reading companion, on iPhone. Reading is free. Membership adds the companion — answers to your questions at any verse, kept as marks in your book. The companion is an AI: it is careful, but it can be wrong, and it is not a pastor, counselor, doctor, or lawyer. What you do with its words is yours to weigh.
An account is an email address and a password (stored only as a salted hash — we cannot see it). Your account keeps your marks, margin notes, conversations, and reading record so they follow you between devices. They are shown only to you, and we do not sell or share them.
When you ask the companion a question, the question and the passage you are reading are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to produce the answer. We keep no analytics trackers and no advertising.
Membership is a monthly subscription purchased through Apple’s App Store and billed to your Apple account; cancel any time in Settings → Subscriptions, and the companion ends at the close of the paid period. Your reading and marks remain yours either way. Memberships begun earlier through Stripe are managed from the link on their receipt. We never see your card — Apple and Stripe handle payment entirely.
Delete your account any time from the app’s Account page. Your account record, journal, and reading record are removed from our servers at once; routine backups clear within about sixty days. Deleting the account does not cancel an Apple subscription — end that in Settings → Subscriptions.
Account holders may receive one plain email each week when the reading changes. Every letter carries a working unsubscribe link, and one click ends them.
The King James text is public domain. Don’t use the companion to generate abuse or to probe the service; accounts doing so may be closed. The service is offered as-is, without warranty, and our liability is limited to what you paid in the month at issue.
